Danzante Island and Snorkel Tour

Danzante and Carmen Islands sit at the heart of the Loreto Bay National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage marine reserve that protects one of the most biologically diverse stretches of coastline in the entire Pacific. This private 4-hour expedition from Villa del Palmar’s beach takes you to twin islands of dramatic volcanic cliffs, hidden turquoise coves and pristine reef systems that few visitors to Baja ever reach.

The snorkel sites around Danzante and Carmen are exceptional — colorful tropical fish, curious sea stars and an abundance of marine life thrive in the protected waters of the national park. Your expert crew guides you to the best spots based on conditions and current marine activity, and all snorkel equipment is included. Above the water, the islands’ towering cliff formations provide nesting habitat for soaring seabirds, and dolphin sightings along the route are common.

After the snorkel and wildlife portion of the tour, your captain brings the boat to rest at a secluded island beach where beach chairs, umbrella, a Baja-style box lunch and cold drinks are waiting. The silence out here — the Sea of Cortez on one side, the Sierra de la Giganta mountains visible in the distance — is the kind that reminds you why you came to Loreto in the first place.

This tour departs Monday through Saturday at 09:00 AM from Villa del Palmar Hotel’s beach in Loreto. Also interested in a longer island day? The Coronado Island and Snorkel Tour is a 6-hour private expedition departing from the Loreto Marina.
