The centerpiece of the evening is the Temazcal — the sacred Maya steam bath used for millennia across Mesoamerica for physical purification, spiritual cleansing and healing. Led by a community guide, the ceremony draws on ancient tradition and includes storytelling and Maya purification rituals that bring the evening’s themes of ancestral connection to life. The Temazcal experience is immersive and intimate — bring an open mind and comfortable clothing.

After the ceremony, a night swim in a freshwater cenote under an open sky brings one of the most extraordinary sensory contrasts imaginable — the cool of the water, the warmth still in your skin from the Temazcal and the silence of the jungle overhead. The evening ends with a home-cooked Maya dinner prepared by a local family: chicken pibil, handmade tortillas, rice and beans — food that carries the flavors of a tradition centuries old.
